Goalkeeper trainer Luis Llopis has signed for Real Madrid and will return to the club after working in the Spanish capital from 2015 to 2018. Llopis was now training Real Sociedad’s goalkeepers and left Real Madrid after Los Blancos decided to appoint Julen Lopetegui and he chose to bring his own coaching staff.

Llopis is known as one of the best goalkeeper trainers in Spain and is seen as one of the people responsible for Keylor Navas’ growth and development as an elite goalkeeper, given that he also worked with the Tico when they were both in Levante.

In Madrid he will work with Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin. Courtois has been in great form for the last year, so Llopis will likely need to make sure that his training methods don’t disrupt Courtois’ confidence and momentum. Considering Llopis’ reputation, it’s safe to assume that Courtois will improve his weaknesses and maximize his potential even more.
