Real Madrid have published a medical report about Dani Ceballos, who was injured during Spain’s opening game in the Tokyo Olympic Games and made his return to Valdebebas today after the team managed to conquer the silver medal.
Following tests carried out on our player Dani Ceballos by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a complete tear in his anterior talofibular and calcaneofibular ankle ligaments. His recovery will continue to be assessed.

This is a surprising report considering that Spain were hoping that Ceballos could play in the Semifinals or the Final. In the end, Ceballos couldn’t feature, but the Spanish national team still reported that he had suffered a sprained ankle and not a complete tear in two ligaments. Furthermore, Ceballos was seen training just five days ago, right ahead of the Final against Brazil.
Ceballos will spend a few months recovering from this injury and that could have an effect on Martin Odegaard’s future, given that Toni Kroos is also injured right now and that Madrid need some depth in the midfield.
