West Ham appear to be interested in signing Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic. Los Blancos want to get rid of his contract through a permanent transfer and no other club seems to be keen on such a deal after Jovic’s first two seasons in the Spanish capital, so if West Ham decide to send an offer for the Serbian striker Madrid will likely accept it.
The London based club definitely need another striker but the financial aspect of this potential deal could be problematic for them, given Jovic’s salary with Madrid. The attacker would have to take a big salary cut and even then they could struggle putting together a solid transfer fee for Jovic, given that Madrid spent €60 million on him just two seasons ago.
Jovic is still 23 years old and could thrive in the right context, but his lack of confidence and momentum displayed with Real Madrid suggest that he would benefit from playing relevant minutes on a consistent basis, something he almost certainly will not accomplish if he stays in Madrid for another season.
