Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly planning on departing the English club on a free transfer with Real Madrid in mind next summer, according to Sky Sports (via AS).

Pogba, 28, will have an expiring contract to deal with in 2022 with no renegotiations as of yet with United. The report reads that Pogba has his eyes set on a move to the Spanish capital after six years in the Premier League.

The report states that completing a move for Pogba was always a desire of former Real manager Zinedine Zidane. It says that United wanted between €180 million—€200 million, but Real were unwilling to meet the high asking price.

There’s no doubt that on a free transfer Pogba would demand a very large wage salary. PSG are reportedly willing to offer him €600,000 per week at the start of the 2022/23 season, according to The Independent.

They claim that PSG were believed to be in pursuit of Pogba this summer until the signing of Lionel Messi after his sudden departure from Barcelona.

For now, these are rumors that are speculating what Pogba could do at the expiration of his contract next summer in 2022. He remains a Manchester United player for the foreseeable future until he either re-ups with the club or decides to pursue a new opportunity abroad; perhaps in Madrid.
