El Chiringuito announced earlier today that Edu Aguirre, a close friend of Cristiano Ronaldo and reporter for the show, was going to announce breaking news regarding the Portuguese on the the program tonight.

The show, which started around midnight Spanish time, teased the news for a couple hours before Aguirre finally broke a story: According to him, Carlo Ancelotti has started conversations with the club to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to the Bernabeu, and he sees Ronaldo as someone who can still help the team and, given that Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Juventus, is trying to push for his signature.

Managing Madrid is reporting this story, but unsure of how much any of this will actually materialize, especially given that Florentino Perez made it clear earlier that Ronaldo would not return, and also that any funds Real Madrid have will be put towards Kylian Mbappe and / or Erling Haaland.

Nevertheless, we’ll use this as a thread to launch discussion on whether or not signing Ronaldo now makes sense.
