Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has rejoined the squad in training and could be ready to feature against Levante off the bench. Carvajal has been completing an individual pre-season stage to try to put his injury woes behind him and stay healthy on a consistent basis.
The Spanish right-back has struggled a lot with injuries for the last two seasons. In fact, he only had 15 appearances for Madrid last season, very worrying numbers for a 29-year old player who should be on his prime.
Carvajal is a crucial player and leader for Real Madrid’s defensive line, so his return is great news. While it’s almost certain that he won’t start against Levante as coach Carlo Ancelotti allows him to gain some confidence and momentum, he should be ready to play consistently very soon as long as he keeps training with his teammates and improving his physical condition week in and week out.
Carvajal just signed a contract extension with Real Madrid and his new deal will expire in 2025.
