Real Madrid have registered defender Jesus Vallejo with number 5 for the 2021-2022 season, according to LaLiga’s portal which shows in real time every club’s roster. Vallejo wasn’t registered for Madrid’s season opener against Alaves last weekend but it looks like he will make the team’s squad list to face Levante on Sunday.

Vallejo won’t be required to play much this season unless big injuries happen for Madrid, and that’s probably good news given the performances he completed for Granada and also for the Spanish Olympic team in recent months.

Either way, Vallejo will be part of the roster this season and he will try his best during training sessions to earn some minutes, even if they only come in the first few games of the Copa del Rey. As things stand right now, Alaba, Militao, Nacho and Vallejo are the team’s four center-backs, although Alaba will replace Mendy in the starting XI until he recovers from his injury.
