Real Madrid Castilla finished preseason on a high early Saturday morning, Sergio Arribas golazo sealing a 1-0 win over Bilbao Athletic.
Barring some first team absentees, Raul fielded a strong team and continued to experiment with a three at the back formation with Peter Federico playing at wing back. Théo Zidane got a run out in Peter’s favored left wing position, partnering Miguel Latasa and Sergio Arribas in a front three.

Castilla made an excellent start to the match, pressing their opponents and dominating posession with Zidane and Pablo Ramon having the best chances to open the scoring. Come halftime, all the reserves were lacking was a goal and it would take some Sergio Arribas magic to finally break the deadlock. Receiving the ball from Carlos Dotor at the top of the box, Arribas curled a shot into the top corner to put Castilla in front with just a few minutes left to play.

This victory was Castilla’s only one from pre-season, however, Raul’s side have continuously improved match after match and Saturday’s win was deserved for the work put in so far. Next weekend will see the kids kick off another promotion challenge in a new league, starting with a match against RB Linense.
