Levante vs Real Madrid, 2021 La Liga: Predicted lineups

Who will replace Modric in the lineup?

Real Madrid’s visit to Levante is an important one, even if this is only the second game of the 2021-2022 season. Los Blancos have the chance to take advantage of Barcelona’s away draw against Athletic Bilbao and doing so without both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric would definitely give the team some momentum and confidence going forward.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois, Vazquez, Nacho, Militao, Alaba, Casemiro, Valverde, Isco, Bale, Hazard, Benzema.

Levante predicted XI: Fernandez; Son, Duarte, Rober, Clerc; de Frutos, Campana, Melero, Morales; Marti, Roger.

Isco is the most natural replacement for Modric, although Ancelotti could also deploy Asensio in that spot if he doesn’t trust Isco, who hasn’t been performing at a high level for quite some time. Ancelotti himself confirmed during his pre-match press conference that he’s used Asensio as a central-midfielder in recent training sessions, so he’s definitely an option for that spot if Isco hasn’t been impressive in training.

Other than that, Ancelotti will likely start the same team who got the job done against Alaves in convincing fashion last week.
