Real Madrid Femenino will take on Manchester City in Round 2 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) Qualifiers. The two-legged tie will take place on August 31 and September 8.
Per UEFA’s website:
Round 2 is split into two paths: the champions path and the league path. Both will consist of two-legged ties. The 15 teams progressing from round 1, among them 2006/07 winners Arsenal, have joined nine sides beginning at this stage, including record seven-time champions Lyon and two-time title holders Wolfsburg.
Manchester City lost the Women’s Super League by only 2 points last season and made it to the quarter-finals of the 20/21 edition of the UWCL before getting knocked out by Barcelona. They remain formidable opposition despite losing Americans Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle and will be the overwhelming favorites to progress to the Champions League proper.
