PSG forward Kylian Mbappe will reportedly stay with PSG for the 2021-22 season, according to French outlet Le Parisien (via MARCA).
The 22-year-old has reportedly lowered tensions between himself and PSG and is willing to play out the rest of his contract with the club, which is set to expire in 2022. PSG risk losing Mbappe on a free transfer if he does not decide to re-up his contract by the end of the coming season.
MARCA’s article included a particularly glaring commentary from Le Parisien on Mbappe’s situation moving forward.
“For all of those who haven’t understood, or don’t seem to understand, particularly in Spain, Mbappe will stay at PSG this year, as this newspaper [Le Parisien] revealed on July 1.”
We’ve indeed seen conflicting reports coming from the Spanish media recently who playfully hint Mbappe could be a possibility for Real Madrid this summer. There still doesn’t appear to be anything concrete at the moment.
Both MARCA and Le Parisien expect that Mbappe will at least feature in PSG’s Ligue 1 season opener against Troyes on August 7.
