Real Betis are keeping tabs on Jesus Vallejo and would be interested in a loan move for the 24-year-old central defender, according to a report from La Razon.
Real Betis have already lost veteran defender Aissa Mandi this summer, but there are rumors of a potential departure of Brazilian center back, Sidnei. If Sidnei departs, Marc Barta and Victor Ruiz would be the only first team center backs on the books at Betis. There is currently interest from the Seville-based side in Torino’s Brazilian center back, Lyanco, but would like to acquire Vallejo on loan as additional depth.
There is an opening in Real Madrid’s roster at center back position given Raphael Varane’s departure to the Premier League with Manchester United. At this time, Real Madrid are not looking to purchase a replacement, but instead would be willing to promote one of Victor Chust or Mario Gila. If Vallejo ultimately cannot be sold or loaned out for the season, then he would occupy that fourth center back position for Real Madrid, relegating the academy prospects back to Castilla. As has been the case for most of the transfer activity this summer, the dominoes need to fall and other market moves need to happen before Vallejo’s future can be resolved.
