Real Madrid Femenino finished as runners-up to Turbine Potsdam in the Kaif Trophy. Las Blancas lost 3-0 in the preseason tournament final.
Las Merengues made it to the final after defeating Sparta Paha 3-0 on Thursday and FC Wacker Innsbruck by the same score on Friday.
Real Madrid conceded late in the first half of the final. Turbine Potsdam won the ball in Real Madrid’s half and flighted a ball forward. It was flicked on to Selina Cerci, who bodied Olga Carmona off the ball and slotted it past Meline Gerard to make it 1-0.

The German side quickly doubled their lead in the second half. Las Blancas made a mess of a Potsdam corner kick. Olga had to make a goal line clearance and it fell to Karen Holmgaard. She struck the ball into the roof of the net.

Potsdam won a penalty after Rocio Galvez tried to challenge from the ground after she thought she had been fouled. Merle Barth converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-0.

Las Blancas will participate in another preseason tournament before starting their Primera Iberdrola and UEFA Women’s Champions League campaigns. They are back in action against Cacereño on Saturday, Aug. 14th at 1:00 p.m. EST.
