Eden Hazard put on a scintillating performance vs the Czech Republic over the international break’s World Cup qualifiers. Belgium took three points in a convincing 3 - 0 win, with captain Eden Hazard showing flashes of his former Chelsea-self, and reminding fans why Real Madrid broke the bank for him in the first place.
Here’s what Belgian national team manager Roberto Martinez had to say about Hazard’s performance:
“Eden Hazard is back, Hazard is ready to make a big impact in the coming weeks and months. Against Czech I saw Eden’s best performance since Nov 2019.”
Although that may be a bit premature, Hazard did shown some very promising signs and one critical sign in particular. I detailed them in the following video:
Hazard successfully emerging out of his injury / relapse cycle would be a massive boost for the club and for the player who has taken a shellacking in the court of public opinion. Hopefully these promising signs continue to develop in a positive direction.
