Real Madrid could possibly table a huge contract offer for PSG forward Kylian Mbappe in January, according to ABC Deportes.
The report claims that Real are reportedly willing to offer a €30 million salary to Mbappe that will last through 2028. The club is also willing to offer between a €60-80 million bonus to him, his father (and agent) and lawyer. Mbappe’s current salary at PSG is about €18 million.
While the reported contract offer would be an exorbitant amount, it would reportedly be only 60 percent of what was offered this past summer window to PSG. This is particularly because Real Madrid would not have to provide the €200 million transfer fee.
ABC also claims that PSG will table another contract renewal offer to Mbappe in the coming weeks. He has so far reportedly turned down several contract renewals in the past several months to stay with the Parisian club past the 2021-22 season. He will be a free agent next summer and eligible to sign with any club provided there’s no renewal within that timespan.
They also claim that Mbappe’s free transfer would allow Real Madrid to pursue Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Halaand as well. That’s a rumor for another piece, however.
ABC is not the most reliable source when it comes to transfer or contract news. All we’ll have to do is let the season press on and focus on Mbappe when Real Madrid are eligible to reach out to him again.
