Former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte claims that PSG fullback Achraf Hakimi’s dream is to one day return to Real Madrid, according to an interview with Sky Sports Italia (via AS).

Conte was very brief with his statements on his former player: “Hakimi’s dream is to play for Real Madrid again.”

He also spoke about the growth and development in Hakimi while playing for him at Inter, specifically recalling the group stage matches against Real Madrid.

“He suffered in those two matches. I remember the mistake he made in Valdebebas, but from there he worked a lot. “He needed some benches and he accepted it with serenity and with a desire to learn. Now he is one of the strongest wingers in the world, he can become a crack. He has also improved a lot in the defensive phase and in the last pass.”

Hakimi joined PSG over the summer in a reported €60 million transfer that will see the 22-year-old stay under contract with the Parisians until 2026. Hakimi joined Conte and Inter from Real Madrid last season.

The Moroccan international began his youth career with Los Blancos in 2006 before his promotion to Castilla during the 2016-17 season and his eventual senior debut in October 2017.
