Real Madrid visit Valencia after earning an encouraging last-minute victory against Inter Milan last Wednesday. Los Blancos will try to keep gaining confidence and momentum but will face a very solid team, as Valencia have shown great improvements under former Getafe coach Jose Bordalas.
As everyone could expect, Bordalas has built a counterattacking team who rely on solid defensive principles in order to get the job done. That’s what Valencia fans like, so Bordalas could quickly become a fan favorite if Valencia keep performing at a high level. Furthermore, they are not competing in the Champions League or the Europa League, so Bordalas and his men can focus entirely on LaLiga.
Real Madrid should respect Valencia tonight if they want to earn the three points. They didn’t do so last year, when they faced an inferior Valencia team but still ended up losing 4-1. Valencia always show up when they host Real Madrid and tonight it won’t be different.
