Mayca Jiménez of Diario AS reported today that Real Madrid Femenino are closing in on their ninth signing of the summer. Las Blancas are trying to secure the signature of goalkeeper Yolando Aguirre.
Real Madrid are looking to make this move because it was recently announced that Méline Gerad broke two fingers and will miss an extended period of time. Aguirre would be Las Blancas’ third keeper on the roster, creating a highly competitive rotation once Gerard comes back.
Aguirre currently plays for Napoli Femminile and played in Spain with Santa Teresa last season, where the 22-year-old keeper started and played in 31 matches. She was also part of the Spanish under-19 team that finished runners-up in the U-19 European Championship.
Yolanda would round out a massive window for Las Blancas, joining Méline, Esther González, Nahikari García, Rocío Gálvez, Athenea del Castillo, Lucía Rodríguez, Claudia Zornoza, and Caroline Møller Hansen.
