Squad List

GK: Misa, Belén.

DEF: Kenti Robles, Babett Peter, Ivana Andrés, Olga Carmona, Claudia Florentino, Marta Corredera, Lucía Rodríguez, Rocío Gálvez

MID: Maite Oroz, Claudia Zornoza, Dana Benítez

FWD: Kosovare Asllani, Esther González, Lorena Navarro, Caroline Møller Hansen, Athenea del Castillo

Absences: Méline Gerard (broken finger), Malena Ortíz Cruz (recovering from long-term injury), Teresa Abelleira (ankle injury), Aurélie Kaci (injury), Nahikari García (injury), Marta Cardona (meniscus injury)

Maite Oroz, Lucía Rodríguez, and Claudia Florentino have all returned, but the boost that’ll bring has been tempered by injuries to Kaci and Nahikari, meaning that Madrid remain ever thin in midfield while losing an option in attack.

Members of the Cantera, Belén and Dana Benítez, have also been called up, though neither are likely to start.

One assumes that David Aznar will have to go with a double pivot consisting of Zornoza and Maite. Nahikari’s injury makes a front two of Asllani and Esther very likely and it’ll be interesting to see whether Møller gets her first start out wide or whether it’ll be Lorena (or Corredera).
