Real Madrid announce squad for La Liga match against Villarreal

Real Madrid host Villarreal this Saturday after their very convincing win against Mallorca. Then, coach Carlo Ancelotti decided to give some rest to key players like Casemiro or Modric and Los Blancos still completed a brilliant performance. Ancelotti could very well do more of the same tomorrow, given that the likes of Valverde or Benzema could also use some rest.

REAL MADRID SQUAD:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Fuidias.

Defenders: E. Militão, Alaba, Vallejo, Nacho and Miguel.

Midfielders: Modrić, Casemiro, Valverde, Lucas V., Isco, Camavinga and Blanco.

Forwards: Hazard, Benzema, Asensio, Jović, Vini Jr., Rodrygo and Mariano.

Real Madrid also host Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League on Tuesday, and while that match should be easier than this one, Ancelotti will have to find a way to keep his veterans fresh and ready to go. Resting Valverde now that Camavinga has been making a huge impact when given the chance makes sense, even if only to keep Valverde’s legs fresh.
