Player Ratings: Albacete 2-0 Real Madrid Castilla

Another bad showing

Real Madrid Castilla’s inconsistent to 2021/22 continued with a defeat to Albacete on Sunday. Yet another goal from a set piece put Raul’s team behind heading into the second half and a massive individual error from Pablo Ramon sealed the deal and three points for Albacete. The hosts shoot up into fourth while Castilla remain rooted to the lower half of the table.

Here are the player ratings from the game

Luis Lopez - 7: It would be hard to blame Lopez for this one. As has been a theme of his games so far, the shot stopper was aggressive to claim the ball in his own box and stopped a handful of chances that could have really rubbed salt into Castilla’s wounds at 2-0. Castilla’s best player on the pitch in spite of the score line

Alberto Retuerta - 6: Not known for his offensive qualities at Castilla and faded into the background of a poor defensive performance. Replaced early in the second half.

Pablo Ramon - 3: Directly at fault for the second goal. Having been caught out in his own half earlier in the game, Ramon played a pretty dangerous clearance in his own box which hit Djtei and deflected into Luis Lopez’s net. Tried to amend for his error with a few ventures in the opposing half but it’s hard to look past a massive error on the young center half’s part

Mario Gila - 6: Didn’t register the red faced error his defensive partner did, but was a bit of a passenger throughout the game. Taken off for Rafa Marin in the last 10 minutes.

Sergio Santos - 6: Had some good moments offensively in the first half, creating Castilla’s best chance which Andri Gudjohnsen blew over the bar. Joined his partners in central defense in a poor display in the second 45. Replaced for the more attacking Theo Zidane after 57 minutes

Marvin Park - 5.5: Can’t be faulted for his effort, but his execution was miles off the high standards he’s set for himself in recent years. Misplaced passes and easy dispossessions practically the entire game

Ivan Morante - 6: The better of the midfield duo, an average individual performance in a poor team performance.

Carlos Dotor - 5: Dotor has had a bad start to the season. He was borderline bad in this match with his passes lacking zip and his workrate leaving a lot to be desired. Carlos was one of Castilla’s top scorers last year and was a box to box presence in midfield, the current version of Dotor isn’t anywhere near that level and Raul desperately needs him to step up if Castilla are going to challenge for promotion.

Oscar Aranda - 6.5: Starved of possession and space in a central position. Given his recent performances, Aranda might have to get used to his sort of treatment. He still managed some nice moment, a backheel flick pass to set Marvin on his way being the highlight but will certainly be planning a much better showing next week. Came off for Juame Jardi midway through the second half.

Andri Gudjohnsen - 6: Had once chance which he missed, that’s largely it sadly. Replaced for David Gonzalez alongside Santos and Retu.

Peter Federico - 6.5: A handful of good crosses that weren’t taken advantage of. Lacked any real influence on proceedings outside of that.

Subs

David Gonzalez - 6.5: Nearly snuck a long shot in at the near post and later set up Juame Jardi for a shot at goal which was saved. Might be an option if Raul fancies mixing things up in the midfield next week.

Alvaro Carillo - 6: Played alot of the second half, but didn’t have any standout moments.

Juame Jardi - 6: Had a shot from a tight angle go out for a corner and provided a bit of energy that was missing from the starting 11.

Rafa Marin - N/A: Only played nine minutes after replacing Mario Gila.
