UEFA have appointed Belgian referee Lawrence Visser as the man in charge of Real Madrid’s home game against Sheriff Tiraspol, which will be played on Tuesday. This will be the first time he oversees a game involving Real Madrid.
If Real Madrid take care of business and manage to complete a solid performance, this should be a manageable game for Visser given that Los Blancos are the heavy favorites to get the win and the three points. Furthermore, it shouldn’t be a very physical game, as Madrid will be expected to play with a possession-oriented style in order to control the tempo of the game.
Ancelotti’s men earned a convincing away win against Inter during the first match of the 2021-2022 Champions League Group Stage. Now, they will have to keep taking care of business in order to secure the first spot of the group and advance to the Round of 16 as a seeded team.
