Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland reportedly prefers a move to Real Madrid amid rumors of a ‘secret pact’ made between agent Mino Raiola and Dortmund, according to AS (via ESPN).

The report claims that Raiola and Dortmund have verbally agreed to facilitate a transfer for Haaland next summer. Real Madrid is reportedly the 21-year-old’s preferred destination if he is to be moved in 2022.

It also claims PSG will push hard for Haaland as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe if he does not renew his contract with the club next summer. Mbappe has also long been rumored to join Real Madrid with the club offering a rejected €200 million.

Haaland reportedly has a €75 million release clause that kicks in September of next year.

It’s very hard to say for certain if its possible for Real Madrid to make a transfer for both Haaland and Mbappe next summer. It won’t be cheap, but we know at the very least the club was reportedly willing to spend big on Mbappe this past summer window.

It will certainly be much more possible to spend big if Mbappe neglects to re-up with PSG and decides to leave on a free transfer in 2022. As for Haaland, Mino Raiola is truly unpredictable so it’s hard to say how much of this report holds weight.
