Real Madrid attacker Eden Hazard talked in press conference after one of Belgium’s training sessions and was asked about his situation in Madrid, where he hasn’t been able to perform at a high level and his place in the starting lineup seems to be in jeopardy after Vinicius’ great start of he season.

“It’s not true that I’m not happy at Real Madrid, I’m very happy at the club and you know a player is happy when he is playing and scoring goals. I haven’t played or scored much but that doesn’t affect the affection I have for the club. I’m happy in Madrid, I like my life there. Situation got complicated because of COVID, the injuries and all, but a player is happy when he is playing minutes, it’s easier to be happy when you’re scoring,” said Hazard.

The Belgian attacker was asked about this mater one more time and shared some more thoughts on his situation in the Spanish capital.

“You can say what you want, but I am happy there. I know I can do good things there and that’s it. When I score goals, when I smile again everyone will say I’m happy, but I’m already happy. It’s just that I can’t play and I can’t score, and that’s what I’m missing,” concluded Hazard.

Hazard is likely not complaining about his minutes when he’s healthy but just stating the fact that he’s not been able to avoid injuries. He will need to do so and then reach his best form in order to become the undisputed starter he’s expected to be.
