Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have begun discussions on a potential two-year renewal, according to Revelo and Ramon Alvarez de Mon.
Carlo Ancelotti has amassed 5 seasons as coach of Real Madrid over his two spells with the club. The Italian is arguably the second or third most successful manager in Real Madrid’s entire history. Many thought the Ancelotti chapter would be final after the 2024 season, but both Ancelotti and Real Madrid are open to extending the coach’s stay.
The Brazilian federation have very publicly been pursuing Ancelotti as their new manger for the men’s national team. Many felt Carlo and potentially his son, Davide, would go on for one last managerial adventure with the South American titan this summer. But that deal is reportedly not done and renewal with Madrid is still a potential option.
A final decision both from Ancelotti and from Madrid will be made near the end of the current season. Fans have been clamoring for Xabi Alonso to be the next manager of Real Madrid, but the Spaniard may be looking to extend his stay with Leverkusen before making the next step. Either way, all parties are keeping options open and decision will be made in the Spring.
