After a big defeat in the weekend’s El Clasico, Real Madrid move on to fight for their spot in the quarter finals of UEFA Women’s Champions League. In the first matchday of the group stage, Las Blancas drew against Chelsea 2-2 at home ground.
For the second matchday, the team travelled to Gothenburg in Sweden. The Swedish team, BK Häcken, previously won against Paris Fc in the first matchday and their league campaign finished on November 11th when they lost the title to Hammarby based on goal difference. BK Häcken is the only team in group D that is done with the league and now they only have Champions League and the Swedish cup left to fight for.
Las Blancas are in the middle of a tough period, with 4 games being played in 12 days, 3 of which are with high stakes. On top of all that, the white club lost three of their players after El Clasico. Toletti and Feller are expected to be out for a month, while Linda Caicedo, who suffered an injury to the ligaments in her ankle, is expected to come back only in January of 2024. For this reason, there are additions to the squad list taken from the B team.
