Cádiz 0-3 Real Madrid (Rodrygo Goes x2 & Bellingham). A routine win. Here is the immediate reactions. Be sure to catch: Player ratings, any post game quotes and a podcast.

Girona were proving to be worthy title contenders after 13 games played in La Liga - and Real Madrid would need to continue winning in order to try and climb above them. Ferland Mendy and Luka Modrić came back into the starting eleven to try and best struggling Cádiz. Andriy Lunin continued to start in goal, and Joselu Mato got his chance in attack. Castilla graduates Víctor Chust and Álex Fernández (Nacho’s brother) started for the opposition. Nacho Fernández captained the team for this one.

Some have been critical of Rodrygo Goes so far this season, with his form being a topic of discussion for weeks now. Those conversations would change after this game, as he skipped past multiple defenders before finishing past the keeper to give Madrid the lead early on here. It would be all Madrid for the majority of the first half, although no real chances for either side would be created other than a couple of set piece routines. 1-0 at half time.

Luka Modrić got things going for Los Blancos, hitting the post from the edge of the box. Rodrygo would make his mark at a similar time into the half, this time feeding off of Modrić to finish calmly inside the area. Andriy Lunin had to preserve his clean-sheet with an acrobatic save to keep his side strolling ahead - and that would push Madrid forward to find the third. Rodrygo this time the creator as he found Jude Bellingham for the Englishman to get himself yet another goal in white. This would secure a comfortable 3-0 win for Real Madrid, and send them momentarily to the top of the table. Thoughts on the performance?
