UEFA have appointed Slovenian referee Rade Obrenovic as the man in charge of Tuesday’s match between Union Berlin and Real Madrid in the last game of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

Rade Obrenovič will referee the game between Union Berlin and Real Madrid, on the final matchday of the Champions League group stage, which will be played at the Olympiastadion stadium in the German capital (Tuesday, 9pm CET). This will be the first time the Slovenian referees a match involving the Whites in Europe’s top competition.

This should be a fairly meaningless game for Real Madrid, who have already advanced to the next round after winning their group. Coach Carlo Ancelotti will be expected to make heavy rotations in order to keep his players fresh and ready for this last stretch of games ahead of the Christmas break.

Union Berlin could still fight for a spot in the Europa League if they beat Madrid, so they will play with intensity.
