Real Madrid have published a medical report confirming that defender David Alaba suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's match against Villarreal.

Following tests carried out on our player David Alaba, he has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He will undergo surgery in the coming days.

This is a season-ending injury for Alaba, who is a veteran player. It is unclear whether or not he will be able to come back at full strength once he recovers from this ACL tear, so Real Madrid should probably explore the transfer market this winter as Militao is also recovering from his own ACL injury as well.

Rudiger and Nacho are the team's only available center backs at the moment.
