Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has already signed a contract extension with Real Madrid, according to a report published today on Relevo. His new deal will expire in the summer of 2026 and was signed right before the Christmas break, per that same report.
The writing was on the wall and Ancelotti’s contract extension was only a matter of time after the first half of the season Real Madrid have completed. Not only have Los Blancos survived a very tough injury crisis, they’ve also completed a perfect group stage in the Champions League while leading La Liga table and building a seven-point lead over Barcelona and Atletico de Madrid.
Before the season even started, Ancelotti was rumored to be on his way to become Brazil’s coach next summer, with Xabi Alonso being the main candidate to replace him. However, it now looks like Ancelotti’s contract extension is all but signed.
