Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press at the Estadio Benito Villamarín in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Real Betis, which left the Italian happy, despite dropping two points on the road in Seville.

Asked what went wrong, he said: “The bad thing that happened was that they scored a fantastic goal. Ruibal scored a fantastic goal and they equalised with that goal. I’m satisfied. You can’t win every game, we did a good job and we will do again.”

Ancelotti on the result

“We think the result is good. We stick with our game, which was good, and it was a controlled game and the rival played well. We go home happy, we’re leaders, and this is a difficult stadium to come to. We’re thinking about the next few games.”

Ancelotti on Luka Modrić’s reaction to his substitution

“I don’t know.”

Ancelotti on the game

“It was a good game, played well by both teams. It was the correct result. We conceded when the game was under control when we lost the ball. I think the result is due to Betis’ effort, which they didn’t deserve to lose. They played well, like us.”

Ancelotti on Andriy Lunin starting

“He did well today. He showed confidence and personality. We’ll see for the next game.”

Ancelotti on mistakes

“Not everything goes as you want it to. We had mistakes, we had good things. That’s what’s happened, now we have to reflect on a good result and carry on with our good form to think about the next game.”

Ancelotti on the Betis goal

“It was a switch from Bellingham, we were a little slow and we lost the ball. After that, the line got back quite well, they had a fantastic shot. I don’t complain about anything or anyone. I leave here satisfied, it’s a good point for the table. Do you want me not to be satisfied? Do you want me to be very sad or angry? It’s not like that, I’m happy.”
