Real Madrid have announced that defender Lucas Vazquez has suffered a hamstring injury which will keep him out of the team’s next three weeks, meaning that he will also miss the entirety of the upcoming Spanish Supercup in Saudi Arabia.

While Vazquez is not a starter for Real Madrid, this injury still hurts the team’s depth, especially considering that Carvajal just recovered from his own injury. With Madrid visiting Aranda de Duero to face Arandina in the Copa del Rey this Saturday, Ancelotti will likely have to use some Castilla players if he wants to rest Carvajal in that match.

Furthermore, Nacho is now the team’s starting center-back alongside Rudiger, so Real Madrid will need to rely heavily on Carvajal until Vazquez recovers from his injury, although Ancelotti could deploy Tchouameni in the center of the defensive line in order to use Nacho as a right-back if needed.
